ACS participated in the San Diego Science & Engineering Festival at Petco Park, which is the largest annual celebration of science in the U.S. Dozens of volunteers from ACS student chapters and local sections engaged visitors, tiny tots and grandmas alike, in hands-on activities demonstrating basic chemical principles such as bonding. Lynn Hogue, chair of the ACS Committee on Community Activities, put on a fascinating chemistry magic show, and ACS president Bassam Z. Shakhashiri talked to visitors about the importance of sharing science with the community. If you missed the event, have a look here!
